Director/Principal Instructor: Kevin S. Camilleri

Drum Crazy Percussion Camp founder and director Mr. Kevin Camilleri, has been a school teacher for over 15 years, and still currently teaches in Hamilton, Ontario for the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board.

Mr.C. holds both an Honours Music Degree in Percussion Performance and Music Education and a Bachelors Of Education Degree specializing in Intermediate Music. He also received his Level 3 Orff Teaching Certificate from The Royal Conservatory Of Music in Toronto, Ontario.

Mr.C. has been a camp counsellor and camp workshop instructor for The City Of Hamilton and continues to give drum and percussion workshops to children and adults around the greater Hamilton area. Mr.Camilleri. is also on the part-time faculty at Brock University Faculty Of Education, where he teaches music to teachers seeking their Primary Qualifications. He has also given percussion workshops to teacher candidates at Redeemer University, and teachers of the Hamilton Separate and Public School Boards.

Along with his education and teaching career, Mr.C has been playing professional drums and percussion for over 25 years. He has traveled throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe with several orchestras and bands and is currently playing pit percussion and drums for various theatre groups around the Toronto Area. Mr.C.is also currently playing drums and world percussion for a unique accordion duet with his father Silvio Camilleri, a world renowned accordionist and former Canadian Music Director for Al Martino (The Godfather).

Mr. Camilleri is also a well established author. His Canadian and American music curriculum book that is entitled "Bang A Gong Lets Create A Song" has been published under EMC Notes, and is currently being used by over 20 school boards in Canada. Recently, Bang a Gong was added as a New York State Board Of Education certified curriculum resource.

Mr. Camilleri also produces and writes original material and is currently working on creating the theme song for a popular cable T.V. program called Hamilton Life. Children who attend Drum Crazy get to participate in a professional live recording of the campers playing a percussion composition. The recording is then featured on the Drum Crazy website.

Mr.C. is very excited about our 2011 summer camp and all of the young and vibrant counselors that are ready to lead our camper.

Summer Camp 2011promises to be just as exciting as our previous camps in 2009 and 2010.
